Tomoya Ishibashi
Born in 1990. Studied life science and graduated from Waseda University Graduate School in 2014. Entered IAMAS doctoral program in 2023. He joined metaPhorest from 2012. He focuses on objects at the interface of the natural and the artificial, such as goldfish, urushi, and language. His practice approaches their nature, structure, and history through the perspectives of biology knowledge and contemporary technologies such as artificial intelligence. Main Prizes: The 23th Japan Media Arts Festival, Excellence Award (2021), WIRED CREATIVE HACK AWARD, Grand Prix (2019), The 25th Taro Okamoto Contemporary Art Award, nominated (2022).
